This is a guest post by a friend of mine, Ope Adebanjo. Enjoy!
It seems that in life the most challenging professions or callings to accomplish have nothing to do with competence or intelligence, but have everything to do with resilience and grit. People throw those last two terms around a lot, and tell you that some people have these qualities and some people just don’t. I’m not sure I believe that. I have found that any skill can be built, and in many ways Continue reading “5 Keys To Succeed In A Rigorous Field”
We often refer to worship as singing slow songs that glorify God, but how we live our lives is also a form of worship. If you read 2 Chronicles 20 you can see how the tribe of Judah used worship as a weapon to defeat their enemies. Jehoshaphat (the king of Judah at the time) was scared when he heard a large army was planning to attack Judah, but despite his fear,

Many of us want the reward that is offered to us in Christ Jesus but don’t want to live our lives in a way God has called us to live. We want the blessings God has to offer but not his discipline.
So how do we become a servant found doing the master’s will when the master returns?

Story Time! Soo….Once upon a time (2 weeks ago) I was planning on traveling for a wedding and ordered my dress less than 2 weeks from when I was scheduled to leave. My dress was supposed to come in 2 days before I left but ended up coming in the day before. When I opened my package I saw a dress that might as well have been white and not the light pink I had seen on the website. I know not everyone cares about others wearing white at their wedding but I was not about to be that person! So I planned to go to the mall and buy a dress that evening. Which was a great plan, except Continue reading “The Power of The Margin”
“21 At one time you were separated from God. You were his enemies in your minds, and the evil things you did were against God. 22 But now God has made you his friends again. He did this through Christ’s death in the body so that he might bring you into God’s presence as people who are holy, with no wrong, and with nothing of which God can judge you guilty. 23 This will happen if you continue strong and sure in your faith. You must not be moved away from the hope brought to you by the Good News that you heard. That same Good News has been told to everyone in the world, and I, Paul, help in preaching that Good News.” -Colossians 1:21-23 NCV
Can you imagine we were once called enemies of God? Continue reading “Don’t Take The Good News For Granted”
God, just one touch from you can take away all the pain
Just a whisper from your lips can heal my broken soul
And sure I might have prayed for this life

At the end of January 2018, God really started dealing with me about learning to trust in him. Prior to that, there were many times I would confess with my mouth, cry out in prayer, and write about my desire to surrender and trust God with all my heart. Continue reading “Learning To Trust God”
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:11-13
I like how Paul (the author of the book of Ephesians) says “therefore” when saying to put on the armor of God. He’s saying that because there is a battle going on, we NEED to put on the whole armor of God. He’s not saying to do it simply because it’s how God desires for us to live, but he is saying it is necessary based on the situation.

I’ve spent the past 6 months working at a small consulting company. Like really small. It’s an awesome place to work, especially compared to what I’ve heard about other companies. I’m the youngest person, the only black female consultant, and the only one with my job title (small company)-all the other consultants are in more senior roles. My company is quite unique and inclusive. I definitely work with a great group of people! I really have no reason to feel left out or awkward but listen to the story I’m about to tell you. This is my honest letter to you.
I know you’re all knowing and ever present, but there is a part of me that thinks I know better than you. A part of me thinks I can plan and execute my life better than you can. I know, it’s crazy. But this is my honest letter. Sometimes you take too long and I prefer to take matters into my own hands and make things happen myself. I know what you’ve called me to do so I made plans Continue reading “God, If I’m Being Honest… (An Open Letter)”
